FAQ

What makes you different from other online registration software?

Besides our winning smiles, you mean? You’ll come across lots of great registration software options. Some are designed for ticketed events, some are for large conferences, and others are for smaller one-time events like reunions. However, Learning Stream focuses on robust training and class registration needs. Anyone can put a registration form online. But we focus on the complexities often associated with managing the process from beginning to end. Think continuing education, employee and customer training, teacher and staff development, and other programs that require administrators to juggle lots of classes and programs simultaneously.

Anything else?

We were hoping you would ask. We like to think we’re good people. We want our customers to have success. Therefore, we don’t just hand them the keys to Learning Stream and wish them the best. From implementation through ongoing support, our customer service professionals are wonderful at getting to know each customer’s needs and helping them use the software to meet those needs in the most efficient way possible.

Does your software work for conferences?

While our focus is on training and class registration—and making upgrades to the software with that in mind—we don’t turn our backs on anyone who wants to use the software for conferences or other events with many registrants. In fact, some of our customers who use Learning Stream primarily for training and class registration also use it for the occasional large conference. However, one-time events are not our sweet spot.

Is Learning Stream an app or what?

Learning Stream is web-based Software as a Service (SaaS) that sits on the cloud. We do, however, have a free app for attendance tracking that can be downloaded on Apple’s app store or Google’s Play Store. The app includes a QR code scanner that allows you to scan and check in registrants.

Can you do single sign-on?

Learning Stream employs SAML 2.0 for single sign-on, aka SSO. Each time a person accesses a connected application, their credentials are validated. For example, an organization may use the same login point for both its learning management system and its class registration system.

Do you process credit cards?

Not to get too technical about it, but we integrate with the credit card process via relationships with many payment gateway and processors listed here. We pass along the credit card information to the gateway, which takes it from there. We never store credit card information within the software. However, the software generates a unique transaction code that you can use to track payments, issue refunds, and all that other fun financial stuff.

Are you PCI Compliant?

You bet. No credit card information is ever stored within the software, though you will have detailed financial reporting to help you reconcile transactions.

Does your software integrate with other applications?

Other than direct integration with payment partners mentioned above and integration with Canvas, Learning Stream employs API routines to share data with other programs. This often comes into play when an organization wants students to register in Learning Stream for a self-guided class that is offered somewhere else. Learning Stream can make available to the other software key information such as contact information, if the registrant paid, etc. That way, the other software will know to allow the person access to its content.
